Ifátùmínínú directed this stylistic documentary with a group of her closest friends while living in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  It showcases the journey of Nikitta Dede Adjirakor, a writer and storyteller who suffers from chronic pelvic pain.  It has been featured in film festivals around the world.

Our goal with this documentary is to show this and otherwise by encouraging women to own themselves; their light and their darkness; their pain and their lack of it.

It does this through the provision of a nuanced look at the realities of women with sexual and reproductive health issues such as uterine fibroids and endometriosis. Particularly, it follows the journey of one woman and how the symptom of pelvic pain affects differing aspects of her life such as her career, relationships, mental health and emotional state.

Most importantly, it is to show women that it is time to make visible those invisible illnesses and push for solutions.  Click the icon below for more information.
